At some point in your life, you may discover that something seems to be missing. If you feel that the something you need is GOD, you are responding to GOD reaching out to you.You are at a crossroads…and the path you take will determine your eternal destiny. If you are now seeking to find GOD to fill the need you are feeling, it is important to understand that to actually have what you are seeking is not as casual a thing as some would have you believe.
Cheap grace is not saving grace.GOD freely embraces all who earnestly come to Him, but He has determined what it means to earnest and the path you must take.
The Bible tells us that if you seek GOD with an earnest heart, you will find Him.
When you find GOD, you will understand how holy He is and how unholy you are.This is important, because coming to GOD means that you must repent from all that is unholy and earnestly desire to live as GOD wants you to live.
The word repent means to turn around and go in a different direction. It means a change of mind and life toward God. There is a difference between repentance and remorse.Repentance is more than being sorry for what you have done in your life.It is the desire not to do it again. If you don’t see the need to repent, you aren’t on the path to salvation.
GOD offers salvation to all who earnestly seek it, but to have this salvation you must follow the path GOD has ordained.That path runs through a single gate; Jesus Christ.Without Christ there is no salvation.
Coming to GOD and salvation through Christ is not a casual undertaking but neither is it difficult for those who truly desire it.In fact, it is as simple as A B C.
Admit your sin and repent of your sinful ways
Believe in Christ and put your faith in Him
Confess and Commit yourself to Christ.
Each of us must come to God the same way:
- as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness,
- who realizes no human works can result in salvation, and
- who relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for salvation.
This is the path you must walk.If you know in your heart that Christ is the way to have GOD in your life and having GOD is more important to you than anything else, then tell Him.There is no magic formula or ritualistic prayer you have to say.Just tell Him that you know you are a sinner and that Christ is the way to forgiveness.Ask Christ to save you.
If you mean it, He will hear will.
If you mean it, He will receive you.
If you mean it, you are His child; from now and forever more.
If you mean it, seek out others in the family for fellowship .Find a good church where Christ is not only preached but also practiced.Follow the LORD in baptism.Study the Bible so that you can learn and grow as a disciple.Go out into a lost world as Christ’s ambassador, spreading the Good News of a loving GOD and SAVIOR.
